Dubai (UAE) a place to stay for Indians.............. :) Thoughts

I have landed in Dubai (UAE) 5 years back. Before I landed here I heard a lot about UAE both Good & bad things. After completing 5 years I thought of sharing my experience about UAE.

According to me, UAE is popular not because of its tall structures and architecture but for plenty of other reasons. Many say that Indians played a very important role in making UAE what it is today. And some think it is the vision of the leaders which played a significant part in its development. Burj Khalifa- the world's tallest tower, Palm Jumeirah a manmade island, Emirates Airlines - the world's best airlines, Dubai Airport - second busiest airport in the world, Dubai Metro- commissioned and started running in a matter of 2 years and Dubai mall - the world's largest mall. All the important vision milestones have been successfully planned and executed, and that too in a span of few years, which demands deep persistence and endless character, Dubai's leaders have certainly demonstrated that. These accomplishments are commendable particularly during this turbulent time when it is hard to practice what you preach. And without fail this city has walked the talk. Everything in Dubai is done in a grand style - large, big, number 1, world's best, unique, tall, benchmarking goals at very high standards. No stones have been left unturned and the rulers are prepared to work hard, sacrifice and invest all that is needed to become world class.

In 1970 the total population was 225,000 (UN DESA) and now it is 2.1 million (The National). And out of that 53% are Indians (Wikipedia). Even I lived here for almost 5 years and that was the best time of my life. During my stay I observed that the majority of my Indian friends, colleagues, acquaintances and clients appreciated these six aspects of Dubai:

  1. Lifestyle - The cosmopolitan lifestyle in this growing emirate is marvelous and the best part about it is that even a common man can afford to live a high end life, which in many countries is a distant dream.

  2. Food - As per Khaleej times, 202 different nationalities live in Dubai. This just means that there are more opportunities to experience multi-ethnic cultures, traditions, values and customs. Of course, you cannot miss variety of luxurious delicacies. Most of the world's renowned cuisines can be easily savored here, such as Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Vietnamese, Thai, Italian, French, English, Mexican, Brazilian, Colombian, etc. In terms of Indian food - Kerala, Andhra, Mughlai, Manglorean, Tamilian, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Rajasthani, Gujarati, etc.

  3. Car -Driving your dream car is no big deal here. Anytime in the parking areas you will find more luxurious than mid-range cars. And these lavish automobiles are driven by all sections of the population, including the working class.

  4. Architecture - Its modern architecture is unbeatable and is reflection of the city's ambition, vision and goal.

  5. Cost of living- Cost of living is not very expensive here, unlike other big metropolises in the world. Any person earning a moderate income can easily save money every month. A working class expatriate who can only dream of having luxury in their own country can easily get that in this desert city.

  6. Tax free income- Besides the other perks, income is tax-free which is a huge advantage leading to at least a surplus income of 35% compared to that in your own country.

Dubai is modern, flexible, opportunist, open and accepting. It invites everything that seems suitable and good for its development, acquiring new technology, investing in advance infrastructure and hiring best manpower from everywhere. Here it is believed that it is better to buy the wheel instead of re-inventing, and smartly enough nobody gets sucked in the pothole of being indigenous.

There are many more reasons because of which people love this beautiful place and of course, like others, it also has certain limitations which are easily camouflaged with the ample opportunities the land presents.

The Death Penalty (Capital Punishment)

Capital punishment is the sentence of death, or practice of execution, handed down as punishment for a criminal offence. It can only be used by a state, after a proper legal trial. The United Nations in 2008 adopted a resolution (62/149) calling for a moratorium on the use of the death penalty, however fifty-eight countries, including the United States and China, still exercise the death penalty. As such, the topic remains highly controversial. Abolitionist groups and international organizations argue that it is cruel and inhumane, while proponents claim that it is an effective and necessary deterrent for the most heinous of crimes.

Points For Support:

It helps the victims' families achieve closure.

The death penalty deters crime.

Execution prevents the accused from committing further crimes.

The death penalty should apply as punishment for first-degree murder; an eye for an eye.

Execution helps alleviate the overcrowding of prisons.

Points Against:

Country-sanctioned killing is wrong.

The death penalty is a financial burden on the Country.

Wrongful convictions are irreversible.

The death penalty can produce irreversible miscarriages of justice.

But if you take my opinion than I think there should be capital Punishment for - Murderers, rapists, paedophiles, and kidnappers.

Because the reality is even when they are "in jail for life" the system fails and releases them by mistake. And I'm not talking about the ones who after the fact are found innocent. I'm talking of the country's lovely career criminals. Besides have you ever heard of a corpse committing additional crimes? If executed - that saves the taxpayers a lot of Money every year and our law enforcement agencies can focus on other issues.

Men- The real Truth !!!!! ..............................................Specially for all Girls :):)

I think everyone might have raed about Mom's, Wife & Girl's
Its time to learn something about Men
Who is a boy/man?
A boy/man is one of the most beautiful creations of God
He starts compromising at very tender age. He sacrifice his chocolates for other girls (may be GF/sister)
Later he sacrifice his love for just a smile on his parents face. He sacrifices his love for his children & wife by working Late nights.
He builds their future by taking loans from banks & then repaying them for the life time, Thus he sacrifices full youth for his wife & children without any complain.
He struggles a lot but still has to hear the Music (scolding) of wife and his Boss. Yet every wife & Boss tries to have control over him.
Finally his life ends up by compromising for other happiness. He is that creature of the God who no one can compete with.

Just extend ur hand when he needs it & u shall receive twice fold love from him.

We boys also have emotions. Please respect it.

Debt Burden

Happy Family

Me & My Boss

When I Take a long time to finish,
I am slow,
When my boss takes a long time,
he is thorough

When I don't do it,
I am lazy,
When my boss does not do it,
he is busy,

When I do something without being told,
I am trying to be smart,
When my boss does the same,
he takes the initiative,

When I please my boss,
I am apple polishing,
When my boss pleases his boss,
He is cooperating,

When I make a mistake,
I' am an idiot.
When my boss makes a mistake,
He's only human.

When I am out of the office,
I am wondering around.
When my boss is out of the office,
He's on business.

When I am on a day off sick,
I am always sick.
When my boss is a day off sick,
He must be very ill.

When I apply for leave,
I must be going for an interview.
When my boss applies for leave,
it's because he's overworked

When I do good,
my boss never remembers,
When I do wrong,
he never forgets

what to do?????????????

GOD

Me: God, can I ask You a question?
God: Sure
Me: Promise You won't get mad
God: I promise
Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?
God: What do u mean?
Me: Well, I woke up late
God: Yes
Me: My car took forever to start
God: Okay Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait
God: Huummm
Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call
God: All right
Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?

God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that
Me (humbled): OH
GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.
Me: (ashamed)
God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work.
Me (embarrassed):Okay
God: Your phone went dead bcuz the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered.
Me (softly): I see God
God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark.
Me: I'm Sorry God
God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in All things , the Good & the bad.
Me: I will trust You.
God: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan.
Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today.
God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children.

Mona Sing MMS Clip for fame/publicity or victim of cyber crime

Mona Sing MMS Clip for fame/publicity or victim of cyber crime

An article about a controversial person or group should accurately describe their views, no matter how misguided or repugnant. 1st of all I liked to say about controversy. Controversy is a state of continued public dispute or debate, usually concerning a matter of conflicting opinion or point of view. The word is contra – "against" – and vertere – to turn, or versus, hence, "to turn against."

The most applicable or well-known controversial subjects, topics or areas are politics, religion and sex. Controversy in matters of theology has traditionally been particularly heated, giving rise to the phrase odium theological. Controversial issues are held as potentially divisive in a given society, because they can lead to tension and ill will, as a result they are often taboo to be discussed in the light of company in many cultures.

Now coming to main topic the MMS (Mona Singh) which went viral few days ago has left many people shocked.  A victim of cybercrime (we hope so), Mona Singh, the popular actress has got involved in a MMS clip controversy which shows her look alike in a scandalous avatar. The video went viral on the net and is being seen all over.

She emotionally drained & released a statement. Her statement was "It is just completely appalling and disgraceful that someone on the web can go to the extent of morphing my face onto someone else body to create a sensational video! We have filed a severe complaint at the Cyber Crime Cell and are hoping to find the culprit. People need to realize that before being actors we're respectable women and have family and friends who we're answerable to and who get affected by negativity that is thrown in our direction."

Now the question is whether the clip was for publicity stunt or really she was a victim of cybercrime. 1st Mona who became a household name after the serial “Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin” was also the winner of the dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa” – Season 1. She is also popular as a host and has a good fan following. So, did she really need to do this for fame or publicity? Considering the above fact she is already a famous name in every household. So she didn’t require such kind of fame.

So, it could be morphed video. If yes, than it is very sad to see such cheap practices in our society. Some cheap people with extremely horrible thinking need to severely punish for their act. We all should be with Mona. As we know that she is one of the most respectable women in the industry and we hope that the culprit is caught red handed soon!!!!

But if the video which shown in the clip, is not a morphed video. Than who is doing this? It could be again Mona Singh or the person who is shooting the video. If the person who has done this then she should come in-front & should name the person publicly make sure that he is severely punished under the laws.

But if she did for any fame or publicity then it is shame for her as well as for whole India. For me I belief that when there is fume means there must be some smoke (fire) somewhere. In the ruthless world of Bollywood, MMS clips are one of the shortcuts to fame. The recent past has seen several celebrities increasingly getting involved in such scandals. A sneak peek into the private life of a celebrity through an obscene video is enough to keep the star in headlines for several weeks. While some of them do it deliberately, others fall victim to vengeful plots. The latest celebrity making headlines for her alleged MMS clip is television actress Mona Singh. A video showing a nude woman alleged to be Mona surfaced online on Thursday 28th March, 2013.

Mona came to know about the alleged video when she was shooting for her serial "Kya Hua Tera Wada". It was only after she filed a police complaint with the cybercrime branch that the news of the alleged video came into the spotlight. Mona is currently in a relationship with actor Vidyut Jamwal. Apparently, the clip was leaked two weeks before the release of Jamwal's film "Commando" in which he plays the lead. "Commando" is releasing on 12 April,2013.

However "The clip has emerged at a time when Vidyut's film is about to release. Everyone knows Mona and Vidyut are dating. Someone's tried to make it look as though Vidyuthas done this for publicity." But Vidyutl is not even in the video and it seems that someone's out to taint the couple's image.

Bigg Boss 3 famed small-time actor Kamaal Khan wrote on his twitter page "Media people should go to the house of Mona singh to check her kitchen & bathroom & it will be prove that the MMS is of her only."

The ones who think that it was her in the video should answer this first, is it ok to make that video public even if it’s her or any other person. How does it matter, for now, all we can do is wait until the police find the culprit, who uploaded the video online. If the woman featured in the video is indeed Mona and if leaking that video is a publicity stunt then the actress stands the chance to lose her fans' trust and support.

I liked to add one more thing that it’s really unfortunate. Neither am I her fan nor against her, but I fully support her (if she is not culprit) in such a situation.

'Freedom' is the first thing, we as Indians need to learn from the US, UK or other Developed Country

I do not drink, do not smoke, and I am religious. But most importantly, I do not judge a person who wants to enjoy a drink or two, or smoke. I don’t belief about pre-marital sex and who cares about my disapproval for it. These are my values and what I believe in, and are applicable only for me. For others, they have every right to live the way they want. That's their human right. They are equally right in their way of life, just the way I think, I am.

I have heard remarks on the US, UK & other developed country from several of my Indian friends who talk about their non-existent culture. (I am very sure that these people would jump into the airplane, the very moment they get a chance to settle down in those places). They cannot be more wrong. In those places, more than culture I see humanity. People here know how to respect each other. In the streets of India, I have seen many men staring at girls with those dirty eyes, and making inappropriate comments. In US, UK or other developed country, I have seen giving compliments on girls’ looks but never with the wrong/dirty intention. Here they enjoy beauty in women and respect it.

It is up to us if we want to preserve our culture. But let's first start with ourselves, and then our children and not with the random confident and glamorous woman you see on the street. Let's implement rules on ourselves, and not for others to follow. Let's preach our culture, but not deny any one of their human rights. Let's abolish the narrow-mindedness in people that makes them believe that a woman should cloth or behave in a particular way, so that a man does not misbehave with her. The problem is not with woman's clothing. If that is the case than, why small girl Childs were also raped, molested by their neighbors, relatives or strangers?  It is inside the mind of the sociopath. We should not judge what is right or wrong for others, but for ourselves. No matter how a woman dresses in public, no man should commit a heinous crime like rape.

Today our women are more educated than ever and they can do their own thinking, as to what is morally right or wrong for them. If a man's clothing in India has changed from dhoti/kurta to t-shirts and jeans, so has a woman's. She is now carefree; she is equally glamorous and confident in a mini skirt as she is in a saree.

Our culture teaches us to respect our elders. But it doesn't teach us to stand up for ourselves if anybody elder tries to harm us. That is wrong. In our culture, we worship “Shakti (Goddess)”, but pass dirty looks on women wearing even a saree. I find it ridiculous that a significant number of men who worship goddess in various form and talk about how mighty and superior she is compared to other Gods; they never accept that men and woman are having equal rights. They will bow down to the Goddess, but act superior to their own wives not giving them the mutual respect. That's wrong. Our culture teaches us to forgive and forget, but not to protest for the betterment of our future! That is wrong. While the goodness of our culture is something we should be proud of, it is not something we should live for. It is necessary that we do not blindly believe in any form of culture, but in humanity. And humanity is the supreme culture.

I love my country. But when I see today's woman not being able to walk around freely and without fear; when I hear about the brutal rape cases which are on the rise(more than any other time), it aches my heart. I hope you all bring awareness to those of your male and female friends, who think otherwise. Let's teach others, that if a woman travels late at night/wears revealing clothes/drinks alcohol/parties/smokes, it's not a welcome sign to touch her inappropriately/molest or rape her.

The male dominant society in India needs to change. I hope it does, and that men and woman in India become more sensitive and open to these issues. I sure have changed my point of view. There was a time in my life when I was a nerd (bore), did not party (well, I am still not a party animal) or thought badly of the women who smoke/drink alcohol. But now, I can't remember how long ago that was. The only reason I would think bad of them is if it affects their health or family.

Hence, today, I am more human than I have ever been. And I hope my Indian friends who think otherwise, would give this a thought. Let's build a better society where there are no more rapes/assaults/molestations and women are treated equally, not only in words but also in action.

Marwari / Agarwal

Marwari / Agarwal

Including among the Vaishy community, the leading Agarwal Race is perhaps the most ancient race from the historical point of view which has been maintaining its majority for more than a thousand years in the major part of Northern India from Punjab to Rajasthan to Bihar. This is genraly considered to be the highest and most important subdivision of the Banias.

The original person of Agarwal race who was founder of Agaray Republic is famous by the name of Maharaja Agarsen. The chief city of this republic was Agroha whose former remains are scattered in a wide area along Hisar-Sirsa road in Haryana in the Northwest, 13 miles from the city of Hisar.

There are many rumors prevalent about Maharaja Agarsen, which indicates his time about 1300-1400B.C. But the famous archeologist and historians Late Dr.Vasudev Sharan Agarwal has discovered after research that the Ageay Republic was present at the time of Alexander and its founder Maharaja Agarsen was famous among the Lichci's of the ancient Vaishali Republic. In 600 B.C. Magadh Emperor "Azat Shatru" demolished Vaishali in a terrible war. It is said that it was the most terrible and destroying war after the battle of Maharabharat. Vaishali was again demolished twice after 150 or 200 years even after this. It is guessed that between the first and second demolition under the leader ship of Licchvi, Agrakumar. Seventeen Lichhvi of different family did not appreciate autocratic system & crossed the states governed by the king. They came in this Western Anchak and settled there. They founded an Agray Republic on the lines of the Vaishali Republic, which was governed by Agrakumar with leaders of 18 families or family representatives. These leaders also elected the head of the republic for the whole life from among them. Maharaja Agrakumar adopted the place of Maharaja Agarsen and became its first President. Another account is that the 17 sons of Agarsen married the 17 daughters of Basuki, the king of the Nagas or snakes. The Agarwals for this reason will never molest or kill a snake and some paint pictures of snakes on either side of the outside of their houses, and make offerings of fruit and flowers before them. Raja Agarsen is said to have ruled over both Agra and Agroha. The country around Delhi and Agra is their home, and the shrine of the tutelary goddess of some of the Agarwals is near Delhi in Mahaur.

Like other banias they are divided into the Bisa and Dasa or 20 and 10 subdivisions, and marry amongst themselves. The Bisa rank higher than the Dasa, the latter considered to have some flaw in their pedigree, such as descent from a remarried widow. The Dasas are sometimes said to be the descendants of the maidservants who accompanied the 17 Naga princesses on their marriages to the sons of Raja Agarsen. A third division has now come into existence, the Pancha or fives. The divisions are endogamous, but a man who cannot obtain a wife from his own group will marry in a lower group. The Agarwalas are divided into 17 and a halve gotras, from the 17 sons of Agrasen. The extra half gotra is accounted for by a legend, but it probably has in reality to do with illegimate descent. The remarriage of widows is prohibited, and divorce is not recognised.

The name of the family was Oogra. Perhaps Agarkumar or Maharaja Agarsen might have related to this Oogra family. Even to day name Ugrasen is general among Agarwal Jains. It is the impression that after Maharaja Agarsen this office was entrusted to other respectable or elected great man to the chief member of Aroha families. With the lapse of long period of time and due to many political changes, the one time prosperous town of Agroha was buried underneath. Since the year 1975 Archeological Department of India started digging this place with the help of Agarwal Community. On excavation of a 60 feet high mond of Agoha, 52 coins of mixed silver and copper on which there are the figures of an ox in front, the figure of lion behind or there is also a tree of Chatya have been found. There is inscribed the phrase "Janpadas Agachh of Angodh" in Brahini Lipi on the coins. According to Pandit Parmanand Shastri all above words are indicator of Angodhak and of being follower of Jainism. By excavating this maund, a statue of Jin and a statue of "Tirthankar" or "Parshavnath" with a hood has been found. Some Jain statues have also been found some years before from the fort of Hansi at the distance of five miles from Agroha. The remains of three cities have also been found on one above another of the time of the most ancient habitation and have been estimated from 5th to 3rd B.C. by the Archeologists. This city was demolished three times; its final demolition was done by 11th-12th century by Muslims invaders by means of throwing fire. After this Agroha could never be inherited and agroha families, which were known as Agarwals, spread in whole of the Northern India and at present they are living in whole of the world. This town is being developed again. Today it is a very attractive and charming pligrimage center and we feel this place must be as prosperous as it was before five thousand years ago.

In the beginning Maharaja Agrasen was follower of the Sanatan Dharma and to please Lord Vishnu he performed 17 great animal Sacrifice Yagyas with the advice of Brahmin Guru. It is a rumor that during the course of 18th yagyas the younger queen Padmavati, who was the princes of Naagvansh and was called Sudravati by her second name. The Agarah families gradually gave up Kshatriya increnation adopted "Vaishya" nature In the nature of vaniks, the Agarwal's adopted the trade of such articles in which they can avoid solid violence i.e. grains, kirana, bajaja, kaserth, jewellery and mahajani etc. The Family Goddess of Agarwals is MAHALAKSHMI. The only hand written copy of "Mahalakshmi fast story" has been available from the personal library of Bhartendu Babu Harishchandra an inhabitant of Kashi. According to this book Maharaja Agrasen was the unique devotee of Goddess Mahalakshmi. He performed a severe penance with his family at the time of long time famine in the kingdom due to no rains or less rains. By pleasing the goddess Lakshmi with his meditation, he filled the kingdom with prosperity and wealth. This statement has been made in the "Peranik Rupak" method of which, the real meaning is the Maharaja Agarsen boldly faced the contrary conditions of famine and compensated the loss of rain by digging wells, tanks etc. in order to irrigate the whole kingdom and he himself labored in the construction works. Moreover, to develop the trade industry and other occupation, he tried whole-heartedly. By this meditation Maharaja Agarsen pleased the Goddess Mahalakshmi. As a result, Agoha Republic began to be counted among the leading prosperous nations.

The most ancient written statement belongs to Vikrami-Sambat 1189 in which a well known Haryanavi Agarwal poet Bibuddha Sridhar has written a description of an Agarwal City Seth of Yoginipur (DELHI) in the praise of an essay poetry book in old deformed language. The historians are not known up to this time such an ancient writing of any other document of any other race including in the vaish community. It is a clear proof of this fact that among the Vaish Community Agarwal community has remained most ancient and prosperous and the Agarwal Seths have kept equal interest in earning money and composing literature and they have been patrons and guardians of the literary people. The most ancient use of Gotra with name belongs to 1302 Vikrami Sambat e.g,"Agrothkanraye Gohit Gotre..." In the writings of after time, the use of gotra with name generally appears to be made. To Dr. Swarajmani Agarwal all the writing enclosed all the Agarwal Bandhu whether they are Kuber in wealth or they are respectable famous literary man or poets were followers of Jainism. From this we conclude that it will not be wrong to say those 700-800 years before the Agarwal community or its major part was follower of Jainism. The background of the non-violence to be kind to the living animals and vegetarian seems to be a witness of this very fact. The birth anniversary of Maharaja Agarsen is celebrated on first day of Ashwin Shukla, but no historic or puranik background is available up to this time. It is said that being asked by a Purohit of an Agarwal Shreshtha that when the birth anniversary of Maharaja Agarsen should be celebrated, the wise Pandit advised that his birth anniversary on first date after Ashwin Shukla may be celebrated Perhaps, the story of Mahalakshmi fast might have beam composed by this very Purohit. Whatever the case may be, but the Birth Anniversary of original founder Maharaja Agarsen is celebrated by agarwal society on first date of Ashwin Shukla with great zeal and enthusiam. Maharaja Agarsen is regarded a symbol of racial love and cooperation. The first date of Ashwin-Shukla is assigned to his sacred memory. We wish that his ideals might always inspire Agarwal race. Our country is fortunate to give birth to such wonder person as Maharaja Agarsen about 5000 years ago.

It is said that Maharaj Agrasen, the king of Agroha, was born to king Vallabh of Pratapnagar some 5182 years back. Maharaj Agrasen was king of great administrative skill. His concepts of kingdom and the duties of the king towards his subjects have evolved him as a centurial man.

Equality, Nationalism, Socialism and Non-Violence were the principles which formed the backbone of his kingship. Maharaj Agrasen established the republican state of Agroha. Agroha consisted of 18 state units. The head of each state unit was given a gotra. All the residents of that particular state unit were identified by that gotra. It was maintained by Maharaj Agrasen that a nupital alliance could not take place in the same gotra. That is a girl of "Goel" gotra could not marry a "Goel boy"', but could be married in any of the other 17 Gotra. This rule enunciated by Maharaj Agrasen promoted harmony and brotherhood among all the 18 Gotra represented by state units. This facilitated promotion of unity and nationalism among the state units.
